How to Store Fresh Asparagus

Air needs to circulate around the asparagus spears to discourage mold from developing. Asparagus is very perishable but storing it in this manner may allow you to store it in the refrigerator for 5 or 6 days. Fresh asparagus can be blanched and then frozen to be stored up to 9 months in the freezer. Do not wash asparagus before storing. Wash it just before using.
