German Sauerkraut Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 can or jar of sauerkraut (16 ounce can)
  • 1/2 cup onions, finely chopped
  • 1 cup white wine or apple juice
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup apple, peeled and chopped
  • 1 dozen juniper berries
Directions
Mix all ingredients together, put in a pot and simmer for 30-40 minutes. Make sure there is enough liquid to cover the kraut. If more liquid is needed, add more wine or apple juice.
