Ingredients
2 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup white corn syrup
pinch of salt
1/4 cup hot water
2 egg whites
Directions
Combine sugar, corn syrup salt and water. Bring to 248°. Pour 2/3 of the syrup slowly over stiffly beaten egg whites. Return remaining syrup to stove, reheat to boiling. Mean while continue to beat the egg white mixture. Add remaining syrup mixture and beat until stiff so mixture will hold shape when dropped from tip of spoon. Drop on greased cookie sheets in small spoonfuls. Nuts may be added if so desired. Also add 1 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp almond flavoring. If divinity gets to stiff - have some boiling water on stove and add 1 tsp or more if needed.
