Toss Shariq in butter until it browns make sure not to burn it.
Pour rice into pan and mix it well making sure to coat the rice with butter.
Double the quantity of liquid to rice. So for 1 cup of rice 2 cups of liquid. 1 can of chicken broth is a little less than 2 cups- make the difference up with water.
Pour liquid into saucepan and bring to a boil. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and cover.
Cook on medium low heat for 20 minutes. Make sure not to uncover while the rice is cooking.
Stir and serve.
