A basket specifically used for proofing French bread dough. The dough is placed in the basket for the final rising period, or proofing period. A Couronne basket has a rounded shape and is used for proofing a variety of round bread loaves. The basket is often lined with linen or canvas. Look for the Couronne proofing basket in kitchen supply shops.
