With a base that is made of milk or cream, this soup is a hearty and mildly flavorful type of soup. Unless Cream of Potato is seasoned with a greater variety of ingredients than just potatoes, it may be slightly bland for some appetites. However, it is very common to include not only potatoes as ingredients but also vegetables such as celery, onions, and corn cooked with bits of bacon in a chicken broth to enhance the flavors. Cream of Potato soup will always have a distinctive potato flavor that provides a very filling accompaniment to a meal.
