|
A round plate with a cover that serves as a storage container to hold fresh cakes. Covered cake plates, which are different from covered cake pans, typically have a thin round plate that can be used as a serving plate for the cake. The plate will often have formed edges that allow the plate to be locked into the cover so that cake can be transported without having the cover shift against and damage the cake or frosting. Covered cake plates are most often made of stainless steel or plastic and may have handles on the cover to assist with carrying the cake.
