A thin, dry, crispy-textured cracker that is made with flour, water and little or no salt. It is a common cracker in Europe and throughout the U.S. noted for its bland flavor that provides a good accompaniment for toppings of cheese, meat or food spreads. Some of the different types of water crackers can be distinguished by their "high-bake" contour that rises up like small bubbles on the surface of the cracker. Varieties of this cracker are typically sold in larger food stores and gourmet food stores. It is a cracker that is also referred to as a table cracker, a table water cracker, or a water biscuit.
