Clairette

A white grape varietal primarily grown in the Southern Rhône and Languedoc regions of France. Clairette is one of thirteen grape varietals allowed in Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines. The varietal is also grown in South Africa and Australia.

Characteristics: Most often used as a blending agent in white wines, low in acidity, high in alcohol and floral in aroma.
