A date stamped on food items that indicates the recommended length of time a product retains it's best quality or flavor. It is a date, that serves as a guide to indicate that the food stamped with a date is best if it is used before or by the period of time indicated. The Best If Used By Date does not indicate that the product must be purchased by that date and it is not a safety issue date. The Best If Used By Date is also known as Best Before date.
