Tallow

A substance produced from various hard fats that are derived from the process of rendering animal carcasses such as beef, pork, and mutton. The rendering process separates the fat from the protein and mineral substances in the animal and produces tallow, which is a commonly used component for making solvents, lubricants, soaps, and candles.
