Tangy Sausage and Pasta Bake Recipe

When my son came home on leave, this is what he wanted me to cook: mom food. It's one of those easy to make in a hurry meals that tastes good and doesn't break the bank. I make it at least twice a month. It's great served with a salad or green beans.

Ingredients
  • 12 ounces shell pasta
  • 1 pound ground sausage - Italian, country, whatever you like best
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 jar diced pimentos - 4 oz.
  • 3 tablespoons Louisiana hot sauce
  • Cooking oil spray
  • (You can vary this by adding chopped tomatoes and bell peppers, and by which type of sausage you choose.)

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Boil pasta in water until al dente.
  • While pasta boils, fry sausage until crumbly.
  • Drain fat from sausage.
  • Mix sausage, soup, pimentos, pasta, and hot sauce.
  • Pour into a casserole dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.
