Combine bread with milk and cream, next beat eggs, add 1 C. sugar and mix well. Stir into bread mixture, add vanilla, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Stir in melted butter & raisins. Pour mixture into 2 qt. buttered (or no-stick sprayed) dish. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
LEMON SAUCE
2 C. hot water
1 C. sugar
2 T. cornstarch
1 lemon juiced, and rind (grated)
2 T. butter
Mix sugar and cornstarch together, add water. Bring to a boil for 10 minutes, add lemon juice and rind, add butter. Stir, serve hot on bread pudding.
