Servings:
Update Servings
Ingredients
  • 1 pound Premio Mild Italian Sausage
  • 16 ounces bowtie pasta
  • 1 med stalk of fresh broccoli
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons chopped garlic (can use already chopped garlic in jar from produce section of the grocery store)
  • 1/4 cup virgin olive oil
  • Parmesan cheese
Directions
  • Remove skin from sausage. Break sausage into chunks and bits into a pan on stove with 1 tbsp olive oil. Brown and drain on paper towels.
  • While sausage is browning, cook 16 oz box of bowtie pasta according to directions on box.
  • Clean and cut broccoli into chunks. Put in microwave dish or steamer with 2 tbsp water and cook for 4 minutes.
  • Add the mushrooms to the broccoli and cook for 1 additional minute.
  • Drain the pasta and return to the pot; add the chopped garlic, broccoli, and mushrooms. Toss with 1/4 cup of olive oil.
  • Stir in the sausage. Add more of olive oil if needed to ensure complete coverage of olive oil on all ingredients.
  • Sprinkle with parmesan cheese after placing on individual plates or bowls.
  • Add salad and crusty French bread for a wonderfully delicious easy dinner.
  • This is my husband's favorite recipe. I made the recipe up after eating a similar dish at an Italian restaurant. One day when I asked him what he wanted for dinner, he said the sausage pasta stuff and now that is what we call it.
