Oatmeal Chocolate Caramel Bars Recipe

An buttery oatmeal crust with a layer of gooey caramel and chocolate and then topped off with some more of that buttery oatmeal mixture. So good, you won't need any other bar recipes.

  • 1 package caramels
  • 5 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups quick oats
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups butter, melted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a medium sauce pan, melt caramels and cream over low heat, stirring frequently.

Combine all other ingredients except the chocolate chips.

Press 2/3 of the crumb mixture into 9x13 inch glass pan. Bake for 10 minutes.

Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Pour caramel mixture over the chocolate chips. Top with remaining crumb mixture.

Bake another 12 minutes.

Cool and cut into bars.
