Mom's Sugar Cookies Recipe

Just like you remember as a kid, these crisp sugar cookies are delicious as they are but you can frost and decorate if you desire.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 5 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

Directions
COOK

  • Cream together the sugar, margarine, and oil; then add the eggs and vanilla.
  • Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Chill the dough 1 hour.
  • Roll the dough in small balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Press down with a glass; then sprinkle with colored sugar.
  • Bake at 400ºF for about 10 minutes.
