Sweet Chex Mix Recipe

Ingredients
  • 9 cups Chex cereal
  • 1 cup peanuts - salted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • Heat sugars, butter, syrup to a boiling, stirring constantly.
  • Continue to boil for 4 more minutes, not stirring.
  • Remove from heat; add vanilla and baking soda; stir while it foams up and then pour over cereal and peanuts.
  • Bake at 250° F. for 30 minutes stir after 15 minutes.
  • Lay cereal out over aluminum foil or waxed paper and break apart.
  • Store in baggie or air tight container so it doesn't get soggy.
