Turkey soup 5 Recipe

  • 2 turkey legs
  • 1/2 cup lentils
  • 1/2 cup split peas
  • 1/2 cup barley
  • 1 teaspoon salt (to taste)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 package frozen mixed vegetables (small bag)
  • 1 can corn
  • 3 handfuls fresh green beans (cut into 1 inch pieces)
  • 2 onions (diced)
  • 6 carrots (peeled and chopped)
  • 4 stalks celery (diced)
  • 3 potatoes (diced)
Fill large pot of water 2/3 full of water.

Add grains, turkey , salt and tomatoes.

As it simmers, add onions, celery, potatoes, green beans, and carrots.

Simmer 3 hours covered.

Stir occasionally.

Take turkey out and let it cool.

Remove turkey from leg and break it up.

Put turkey back in pot and add frozen vegetables and corn.
