Chili 62 Recipe

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 white onion, diced (medium)
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 pounds Hamburger or ground round
  • 2 - 3 jars (or cans) of tomato juice
  • 1/2 cup to 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 packages chili seasoning
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 cans chili beans
  • 1 tablespoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon red cayenne pepper
Warm olive oil over medium heat, cook onions until almost finished, add garlic & cook for 1-2 minutes until both are cooked through.

Add hamburger, cook and drain well. Cover with flour and mix until all the meat is coated. Add to the tomato juice along with the rest of the ingredients.

Simmer for one hour to one hour fifteen minutes (stirring often) , or 7-8 hours in a crock-pot on low.
