Ground Turkey Chow Mein Recipe

Not sure this is traditional chow mein, but the flavor is great and it is so tasty. Enjoy it over rice, crispy noodles or both.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup carrots, sliced
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced diagonally
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 cups cooked white rice

In a large skillet, brown the meat; drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook onion, carrots, celery and peppers in oil over medium heat about 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine cold water and cornstarch. Stir to combine. Add broth, oyster sauce and soy sauce.

Add garlic to vegetables and cook 1 minute more.

Add turkey, sauce mixture and peas; cook, stirring constantly 2-3 minutes until sauce is boiling and thickened.

Serve over chow mein noodles with rice and additional soy sauce if desired.
