CABBAGE ROLLS 2 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 3/4 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 head cabbage
  • Sauce
  • 2 cans tomato sauce (6 ounce cans)
  • juice of 2 lemons
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Flour
Directions
Mix ground beef with rice, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion and egg. Dunk cabbage leaves in boiling water to make pliable. Place 1/4 burger mix on each leaf and roll. Mix sauce ingredients and continue...

If cooking in Crock Pot: Pour 1/2 sauce on bottom of pot, then add cabbage rolls. Pour remaining sauce over rolls. Cover. Cook on high 5 to 6 hr.

If cooking in Oven: Place rolls in large greased baking dish. Spoon sauce over rolls. Cover tightly. Bake: 325°, for 1 - 1 1/2 hr. Check on liquid every 30 min. Add water if needed.

Makes: approx. 12 rolls

Note: I use a 12 oz. jar of Spaghetti sauce instead of tomato sauce, lemons and sugar.
