Apple Crumble 4 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar, divided
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 4 cooking apples
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon rind
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • ice cream or whipped cream
Directions
In a mixing bowl combine flour and 1/2 C sugar. Cut in margarine and peanut butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Pare, core and slice apples. Arrange apple slices in 1-1/2 quart casserole or shallow baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 C sugar and lemon rind, lemon juice and water. Cover with peanut butter mixture. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes, until apples are tender. Serve warm, topped with ice cream or whipped cream.
