Molasses Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg (large)
  • 1/2 cup light molasses
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Directions
Heat oven to 350°. Lightly grease cookie sheet. Mix flour, pie spice, baking soda and salt. In large bowl, beat butter, sugar with electric mixer until fluffy. Beat in eggs and molasses. With mixer on low speed, add applesauce (mixture will look curled). Gradually add flour mixture and beat just until blended. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonful 2 inches apart. Bake 10 minutes or until center feels firm when lightly touched. Makes 6 dozen cookies. Store tightly covered with waxed paper between layers.
