Nutmeg Melt aways Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup toasted ground almonds
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Ground nutmeg
Directions
In a mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar, and vanilla. Gradually add flour, mix well. Stir in almonds. Shape into 1" balls. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 300° for 18-20 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Combine powdered sugar and nutmeg. Gently roll cooked cookies in sugar mixture. Make 5 dozen.
