2 Hour Rolls Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons yeast (I use SAF)
  • 3/4 cup water, slightly warm
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 Eggs, well beaten
  • 2 1/6 cups warm milk
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 6 3/4 cups flour
Directions
Mix yeast, sugar and water in quart size bowl. Set aside. Mix all dry ingredients together in large bowl with lid. Make pond in dry mixture, add other ingredients and yeast and then mix all together with spoon. Mixture will be sticky. Put lid on bowl and let rise until double or triple the size--about an hour. Usually lid will pop off. Roll out on well floured surface. Cut with a tuna can with holes poked in it or a glass about that diameter. Can dip half of roll in melted butter and then fold or just fold. Place on a greased pan. (Makes a full cookie sheet.) Bake at 375 about 15 to 20 minutes.
