Silky Fudge Sauce Recipe

A rich chocolate sauce that tops off desserts like chocolate cake, ice cream or dip strawberries and fruit in it. It's easy to make and stores in the refrigerator for quite a while, even though it won't be around long.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 ounces sweet chocolate bar, chopped (Bakers German Sweet bar)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 can evaporated milk (5 ounce can)
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Melt butter and chocolate in a heavy saucepan over medium-low heat.

Stir in sugar, milk, corn syrup, and salt; cook over medium heat, stirring gently, 5 minutes or just until sugar dissolves and sauce is smooth.

Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.

Cool to room temperature.

Pour into gift jars or use for ice cream topping. Cover and chill.

Keeps in refrigerator up to 1 month.
