Ingredients
  • 1 package pasta of choice
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt or more to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

In a saucepan over medium heat, add oil and onion. Saute until lightly browned.

Add garlic and cook 1 minute more; remove from heat.

In a saucepan over low heat, combine milk, broth, flour, salt and pepper. Continue to cook over low heat until sauce thickens, stirring constantly. This will take a while; be patient.

Stir in onion mixture and Parmesan cheese.

Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions.
