  • 2/3 long-grain rice
  • 1/3 vermicelli, broken into small pieces
  • 1 butter
  • 2 chicken broth
  • 2/3 onion powder
  • 1/4 garlic powder
  • 1/8 dried thyme
Break vermicelli into small pieces.

Melt butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Stir in rice and vermicelli; cook, stirring frequently, until vermicelli is lightly browned.

Add chicken broth and spices. Bring to a boil.

Lower heat to a simmer and cover pan. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until rice is just a bit too soupy to eat.

Allow to sit covered for 5 minutes.

"Great recipe that is so much better for you than it's boxed counterpart. I had to season it a little more, but that could just be our taste. We served it with chicken and there wasn't a morsel leftover."
