Slow Cookers Tamale Pie 2 Recipe

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 can each) pinto beans (or kidney beans) (14 1/2 ounce can)
  • 2 cans each) stewed tomatoes, cut-up (14 1/2 ounce cans)
  • 1 can chopped green chilies
  • 1 package McCormick Slow Cookers Chili Seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Cornbread Topping
  • 1 box corn muffin mix
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1. Cook ground beef on medium-high until browned; drain. Place in slow cooker. Add beans, tomatoes, chilies, and seasoning mix. Mix well and cover

2. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4.

3. While setting is on high. Prepare corn muffin batter as directed. Drop batter by spoonfuls on top of simmering chili. Cover. Cook 30 min longer or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. (allow cornbread to cook the entire 30 min before uncovering or inserting toothpick). Sprinkle with cheese.
