  • After you have cut around the template to remove all sides and edges, center the template on the prepared pumpkin and tape it in place. Tape it securely so that it does not move during the tracing of the pattern.
  • Transfer the pattern onto the pumpkin by using a small nail, golf tee, or any other object that will make a small hole through the paper and just into the skin of the pumpkin. Follow the lines to be cut out and make holes as small as you go. The solid black lines on the template are what will be carve out of the pumpkin.
  • When the tracing is finished, the pumpkin will have an outline of the pattern poked into the skin. These are the lines that will be cut to create the design.
  • With a small knife or pumpkin carving utensil, follow the hole punches to cut out the design on the pumpkin. When all the lines have been cut out and you are finished carving the pumpkin.
  • Light the jack o' lantern with a candle or any other light source and enjoy!
