Hi! This is Laurie from RecipeTips.com. Today I am going to show you how to center the yolks in hardboiled eggs. The reason you want to center the yolk is so that when you are making deviled eggs, and you slice the egg in two, you remove the yolk to make the filling, and what you are left with is a nice evenly dispersed container for your filling. To do this, you are going to want to put your eggs in the carton, close it, and then you are going to want to secure it with stiff rubber bands or kitchen twine. Using rubber bands, just put one on either end; and then the next step is to put it in the refrigerator on its side the day before you are going to boil the eggs. Once you have boiled the eggs, take the egg and slice it lengthwise; and the yolk should be perfectly centered within the white. For more information on eggs, visit RecipeTips.com.
