SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS 24 Recipe

Ingredients
  • Meatballs
  • 1 can pineapple chunks, drained (reserve juice) (large can)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 green pepper, diced
Directions
Make your favorite meatball recipe using approximately 2 lb. of ground beef. Make any size of meatballs you prefer and cook or bake as desired (I bake mine at 400° instead of frying.). Add water to reserved pineapple juice to make 1 1/2 cups. In a saucepan, heat juice with brown sugar, soy sauce, vinegar and cornstarch. Stir until thickened. Stir in diced green peppers and pineapple chunks. Heat through. Pour sauce over cooked meatballs and keep warm.

NOTE: Meatballs can be made ahead and refrigerated. Be sure to heat the meatballs and sauce together thoroughly. They can be kept warm in a crock pot. Very good served over cooked rice.
