Bean Sprouts and Hamburger Recipe

  • 1/2 onion, chopped or sliced
  • 2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
  • 1 pound hamburger
  • Salt and pepper
  • Garlic salt (optional)
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 - 3/4 lb bag of fresh bean sprouts
  • 1 can water chestnuts (optional) (small can)
  • 1 - 1 1/2 cups rice of your choice
Sauté onion and celery in large pan.

Add hamburger, crumbled and season to taste.

Add can of tomato sauce.

Empty uncooked bean sprouts and water chestnuts on top of hamburger mixture.

Cover and steam over meat, 20 minutes or til veggies are softened, folding veggies into mixture as they cook down.

Note: Water can be added to keep mixture juicy.

Prepare rice according to directions.

Serve beansprouts and hamburger mixture over rice on each plate.

Yields: 4-6 servings
