OLD FASHIONED SOFT MOLASSES COOKIES Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup shortening, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 5 cups flour
Directions
Add the following ingredients in order given: molasses, sugar, shortening, egg and milk. Sift soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in 1 cup of the flour and add to first mixture. Add remaining flour and mix well. Turn out onto floured board and roll quite thick. Place on cookie sheet and bake @ 350° for 10-12 minutes only.
