Ingredients
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons soda
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup raisins (optional)
  • 2 cups oatmeal
Directions
Mix together shortening, salt, cinnamon, vanilla, molasses and sugar. Beat in eggs. Add soda and flour, add raisins, if desired; then add oatmeal.

Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes.
