Thumbprint Cookies 5 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups Butter
  • 3 Eggs, Separated
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts
Directions
Mix together softened butter, sugar, egg yolks and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Roll into 1" balls. Dip in slightly beaten egg whites and roll in nuts. Put on slightly greased baking sheet. Press thumb into center of cookies.

Bake at 325-350° for 10 minutes. Cool.

Fill thumb print indentations with jelly or frosting.

Yield: 6 dozen cookies
