Cumberland Wine Sauce Recipe

Servings: makes approximately 1 cup
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup red currant jelly
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange zest (from one orange)
  • 1/2 cup red wine (cabernet or merlot)
  • 1/3 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash cayenne pepper

  • Pour jelly and grated orange rind in a bowl and beat well. Add remaining ingredients, stir until thoroughly blended.
