Grandma's Peanut Brittle Recipe

This brittle is just like your grandma used to make. You'll be surprised at how simple it is. Be sure your candy thermometer is working properly to ensure success.

Servings: Yields about 1 1/2 lb
Ingredients
  • 1 cup white corn syrup
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup raw peanuts (6 ounce)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
Directions
Combine syrup, sugar and water in sauce pan. Bring slowly to 230 degrees F or until syrup spins a thread.

Add peanuts and continue to cook to 300 degrees F.

Remove from heat. Add vanilla, butter, soda and salt. Blend.

Pour into a well buttered jelly roll pan.

When cool break into pieces.
