Old Fashioned Glazed Meat Loaf Recipe

Comfort food just like when you were little. This meatloaf is juicy and topped with a sweet and tangy ketchup sauce. Perfect served with a baked potato and green bean casserole.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can tomato paste (6 oz. can)
  • 1/2 cup vidalia onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Preheat oven to 375.

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, tomato paste, onion, bell pepper, oats, egg, salt and pepper.

Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a 5x9 inch loaf pan.

In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar and mustard. Slather the glaze on top of the meat loaf.

Bake for 1 hour or until the meat loaf is firm and cooked all the way through. Serve hot.
