Blue Cheese and Dried Cherry Meatloaf Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese, crumbled (if necessary make sure the cheese is certified gluten free)
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil (optional)
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs (gluten free)
  • 1 egg (large)
  • cooking spray
Directions
(Works best in a four quart slow cooker.)

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the meat, cherries, cheese, salt, pepper, onion powder, basil, bread crumbs, and egg.

2. Spray the inside of the stoneware well with cooking spray.

3. Form the meat into a large round blob and place in the middle of the pot.

4. Cover and cook on high for four hours, or on low for seven to eight hours. The meatloaf is done when it is cooked throughly and has browned on top and darkened on the edges. Using two spatulas, lift the meatloaf out of the pot and let it stand on a cutting board for 15 minutes before cutting.
