Other than being a smaller version of a Tart pastry, this food item is basically the same as a Tart or Tarte in appearance. A Tartlet, which may also be referred to as a Tartelette is considered to be the bite-sized version of the larger Tart. The Tartlet may be prepared either as individual small servings or a slightly larger but minature pie-like pastry that is also prepared as an individual serving.
