A wide flat ribbon pasta that is approximately 5/8 to 1 inch in width. It is available with straight edges or rippled edges. It is often served with vegetable or meat sauces and dishes such as rag├╣, hearty meats, and pot roasts. Like many pastas, pappardelle can be broken into pieces and added to hearty soups or stews.
