A Bundt cake is the name given to a cake that is baked in a heavy-walled tube pan that has an indented curvature design to it that creates a decorative shaped cake. A Bundt cake is generally a heavy dense type of cake, such as a coffee cake or pound cake. The batter is poured into the Bundt cake pan, baked, and then turn out onto a cake plate to expose its decorative design created by the curvature design of the pan. Because Bundt cakes take on a decorative design from the pan, they do not require much decorating to make them attractive. Typically they are simply dusted or glazed for a finishing touch.
