GREEK APPLE CAKE Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup Butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 4 apples, pealed & sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Directions
Cream butter and sugar for 10 minutes. Add eggs & vanilla; blend well. Mix baking powder to flour & add to 1st mixture alternating with milk. Mix well. Pour half the batter into greased 16" x 11" pan. Arrange apples in pan over batter, cover with remaining batter. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon which have been mixed together. bake in a 350 degrees oven for 45-50 minutes. Makes 40 squares.
