Apple Pudding Recipe

  • 4 large apples
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
Peel, core and slice apples. Place in a buttered two-quart casserole. Sprinkle with the sugars and cinnamon. Cream butter and sugar; add egg and beat until fluffy. Sift together baking powder and flour. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk and vanilla. Spread over apples. Bake at 350° for one hour.
