Canned Peaches Recipe

  • Peaches
  • 7 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • This will make 14 pints.
  • Have jars ready.
  • Put lids in hot water
Put water and sugar in kettle and bring to boil to dissolve sugar. Remove kettle from burner. For peaches bring pan of water to boil, drip in peaches just long enough so skins slide off. Put peaches in cold water and peel. Cut peaches in half or quarters - fill jars to within 1/2" from top. Add sugar water. Wipe off top of jar with clean, wet dish rag. Top with lid and ring. Tighten ring with hands. Put in caner and cover with water, bring to boil, boil 15 minutes. Remove caner from heat and let cool. Remove jars and set on towel. Remove rings so they dry and won't rust.
