Ingredients
3 3/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
1 cup water
1 teaspoon Candy Flavoring
Directions
Mix first three ingredients in large saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil, without stirring, until temperature reaches 310° on candy thermometer or until drops of syrup form hard brittle threads in cold water. Remove from heat. After boiling has ceased, stir in flavoring and coloring. Pour into molds for suckers or onto buttered cookie sheet for hard tack. If making hard tack, let it cool slightly and then score for easier and better formed pieces, or break into random pieces. Cool. Makes a little more than 2 pounds.
