Fried Shrimp 5 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 pound shrimp, raw
  • BATTER
  • 1 1/2 cups brown rice flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • Coating
  • 1 cup brown rice flour
  • 1 tablespoon seafood seasoning (Chesapeake Bay Style)
Directions
If you are using frozen shrimp be sure to thaw out before frying.

Batter: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Add the water and mix again. Let set for about 15 minutes.

Coating: In a small bowl, mix together flour and seafood seasoning. Set aside.

In the meantime, start heating your oil in a frying pan or deep fryer. When the oil is hot enough, dip your shrimp into the coating and then into the batter. Fry for a few minutes or until done, flipping once. Remove from the oil and let cool slightly before serving.

Note: Dipping the shrimp into the coating mixture first before dipping it into the batter allows the batter to stick to the shrimp. If you continue to have problems with the batter sticking you might have to first pat dry your shrimp and then continue with the above directions.
