| Directions | - Grease and flour a 10- x 15-inch baking pan.
- In a small bowl, blend the cream cheese, 1/3 cup sugar, and 1 egg. Set aside.
- In a saucepan, heat the butter, unsweetened chocolate, and water over low heat. Set aside to cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, 2 cups sugar, 2 eggs, sour cream, baking soda, and salt. Mix well; then add the cooled chocolate mixture and mix well.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan; then spoon the cream cheese mixture over the batter.
- With a knife, slice through the topping and batter in a random pattern. (Slice as much or as little as you desire.) This will produce the marbling effect.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on the top and bake at 350ºF for 25 to 40 minutes.
- Cool and cut into squares.
