- Prepare cake mix and bake in 9 x 13 pan as directed on package.
- Turn out of pan and cut in half horizontally with a string while cake still warm.
- Mix flour and milk together and cook until thick, then allow it to cool.
- Mix oleo, shortening, sugar, salt and vanilla and beat until fluffy.
- Add this to the cooled mixture and again beat until fluffy.
- Spread filling on top of half of the cake and then cover with the other half of the cake.
